1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Lambent platform (including Lambent Synapse, Lambent Pathways, and Lambent Probe API), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

Lambent provides AI-powered tools for speech-language pathology assessment, linguistic education, and natural language processing research. The platform includes:

  • Lambent Synapse: Clinical SaaS for therapists - patient management, assessment scoring, adaptive training.
  • Lambent Pathways: Educational tool for linguistics students - virtual patient cases, interactive modules.
  • Lambent Probe API: Developer API for aphasia simulation, recovery tuning, and robustness testing.

3. User Accounts and Roles

Users must register with a valid email and select a role (Therapist, Educator, Student, or Developer). Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their credentials. Sharing accounts or misrepresenting roles is prohibited.

4. Clinical Disclaimer

Lambent is a research and educational tool. It is NOT a certified medical device. Assessment scores are generated by rule-based and AI models for research/training purposes. Clinical decisions should not be based solely on Lambent outputs. Therapists are responsible for clinical judgment.

5. Data Ownership

Therapists retain ownership of patient data they upload. LAMB Lab does not claim ownership of user-generated content. By uploading data, users grant LAMB Lab a limited license to process data for providing the service.

6. API Usage

API keys are subject to rate limits (30 requests/minute per key). Abuse of the API, including automated scraping or denial-of-service attempts, will result in key revocation. API outputs must not be presented as certified clinical assessments.

7. Intellectual Property

The Lambent platform, including its models, algorithms, and interface, is the intellectual property of LAMB Lab, City University of Hong Kong. The underlying research is supported by CityU grants and partnerships.

8. Limitation of Liability

LAMB Lab provides the service "as is" without warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the platform, including but not limited to clinical misuse, data loss, or service interruption.
